Launch of GoLoca.app

Finally! My new mobile travel app: GoLoca is available at the IOS and Android app store! After more than a year of preparation, market research, development and testing it has finally become a fully operational social travel app. GoLoca has been launched with the goal to embrace the taboo and idea that working and travel are always two separate things.

The rapid globalisation happening right now comes with many adversaries, politically and economically but especially mentally. Job postings are receiving applicants from all over the world, overall competition has become much harder for locals competing with a bigger demand of abroad job applicants with uneven salaries and different educational levels.
However, it brings companies and culture from abroad even closer to each other. Culture and abroad adaptability will be one of the most important skills one needs to have to overcome all adversaries on the job but also as an entrepreneur or investor.

Speaking languages will not be replaced by A.I. in the near future. The language one speaks comes with the culture, local habits and mutual understanding translated into the unique individual transmitting the message. Skills will be replaced, but cultural and individual creativity becomes more unique. Whether it is for corporate/personal branding or executing one’s job.

I believe that besides proper local education and internal growth, external learning from abroad and practices will evolve in a more rapid space due to the influx of new cultures and ideas entering each other’s countries without much control and guidance for natives on how to handle and interpret the exponential change in culture. Travel is a two-way street and does not specifically mean holidays. A misconception rooted lately… The overwhelming wave of genuine encounters of new people are hard to manage and will take time. 

GoLoca is a social travel app that closes the gap between travel, work and local culture. In 2024 there are 3 phases of focus. The first phase will be aimed at travellers. From creating your personal travel profile to meeting other travellers on the app. Travellers are able to connect but also explore what is going on in each destination. Who is there, Who is going, What is recommended, … .Travellers like backpackers, Digital Nomads, Expats, Solo Travellers are all part of the GoLoca Community. 

The second phase is the aim of becoming a local expert and building local communities. Whether it is in your own city or creating groups at other destinations. From Backpackers to Digital nomads and Local businesses. Users are able to create their own communities. For as the abroad influx of culture and ideas are important, the local communities are much stronger as these are the foundation at every destination. The local businesses in Indonesia, the group of expats in Beijing, the holiday-goers in Bangkok, Marketers in Amsterdam, Fitness buddies in Paris, Yoga in Bali, Entrepreneurs in London and so on… Whether you go on holidays or not, your own country will have a growing market of small communities tailored to international demand where people are enabled to confront themselves with abroad experiences, cultures, ideas and especially to meet and get to know people from abroad. The 3rd phase is the rewards and prizes function where users are incentivized to travel, interact with each other and complete challenges. In 2025 we will aim to build challenges for our users that will stimulate unique and authentic experiences where work and travel is completely blended into one global market.. The borders for GoLoca users will be based on a cohesive culture and local communities that interact with each other, despite the drawn borders on the map to stimulate the interchangeability between people and (local) culture.
